BABY LIFE QUILT
Typical baby life: eat, play, sleep, repeat... maybe "poop" should be added as well. Click on the picture below to find out how you can make this quilt.
T-SHIRT QUILT
I have been inundated with questions and requests ever since I took a pile of my husbands old, torn up college fraternity t-shirts and up-cycled them into the quilt below. I thought I would share some information and hopefully encourage others to create a t-shirt quilt of their own. Please click on the picture below to read more about t-shirt quilts.

do you still do these quilts? If so, how much do you charge?
ReplyDeleteI do it more as a hobby. Unfortunately with my full-time job and young kiddos I don't have much time to dedicate to this.
DeleteHave you ever done tacking to quilt a T shirt quilt? I have just finished my daughter's quilt from her college days twenty years ago and I need some suggestions. This is the first T shirt quilt I have made and it looks really nice, but I am a novice to quilting. Because it is quite heavy, I wondered if I tacked it very frequently I may be able to hold it together and end up with a great outcome. Please advise. Mary email: mamanderscheid@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteHi Mary -
DeleteI personally haven't tried to finish a quilt with the tacking method but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Id suggest tacking around each tshirt square (in the ditch) and for some of the larger squares you may even need to tack within the square itself just to endure the layers don't billow away from one another.
Good luck with your quilt! I'm sure your daughter will cherish it forever.
All my best,
Gwen -
